The College of Optometrists of Ontario announces the departure of Maureen Boon, Registrar and CEO, effective July 23 to pursue other opportunities.
The College would like to thank Ms. Boon for her leadership and vision over the past year, particularly during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
During the transition, Mr. Ira Teich will be stepping in as Interim Registrar and CEO.
Mr. Teich is the Founder of the Teich Group, an international consulting firm focused on business growth and organizational development strategies for governments, multinationals, and global consultancies. Throughout his career, Mr. Teich has held CEO and senior executive positions in large and medium-sized enterprises.
Mr. Teich has served on numerous boards and previously served as a public member of the College Council, including the Executive Committee, from 2006-2016
