COVID-19 and Optometry Care

What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a new type of coronavirus that causes respiratory illness. Those who are infected may present with mild to severe symptoms that include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. COVID-19 is mainly spread through close physical contact.

What you can do
Everyone is being asked to:

  • follow good hand hygiene
  • stay home and self-isolate when sick
  • practice physical distancing: keep 2 metres distance between yourself and others
  • wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible
  • contact a self-assessment centre if you think you’ve been exposed

If you are sick with coronavirus symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing) or have questions about your symptoms, contact Telehealth Ontario 1-866-797-0000 or your local public health unit. Learn more about getting tested for COVID-19.
